First Listen: Fire and Water by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros

Everyone’s favourite dectet (there can’t be that many floating round, surely!), Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, gained instant acclaim sometime between last and this year due in no small part to the success of their instant hit Home, featuring on countless summer videos the world over. Their album was slightly less well received, consisting of some great songs dispersed through some average ones. This new release however, Fire and Water, belongs to the former group. Solely featuring the vocals of Jade Castrinos, save for the church-like choir, Fire and Water is filled with trumpets, an instrumental, and swing, framing this song of folkie, hippie dreaminess.
It has been released as part of their iTunes Session, available for download here.
