First Listen: Battery Kinzie by Fleet Foxes

As an incessant increase of excitement builds for the sophomore Fleet Foxes album, set to be released on May 3, BBC Radio1’s Zane Lowe has premiered one of their new tracks, titled Battery Kinzie.
They’ve clearly sold out- incoporating such a tawdry, modern word as ‘battery’ in the title. Remember the good old days when their song titles encorporated such conventionally folk-ish phrases as ‘Drops In The River,’ ‘Blue Ridge Mountains,’ and ‘Ragged Wood?’

That aside, it’s a decent song, and while it doesn’t quite mimic the sheer breathtaking nature of Helplessness Blues, the first track to be released off the new album of the same name, it still helps justify the overwhelming public anticipation of the new LP.
