First Listen: Reckless Serenade by Arctic Monkeys

After the deflating efforts that were Brick By Brick and Don’t Sit Down ‘Cause I’ve Moved Your Chair, as well as the abysmal album cover above, the Arctic Monkeys have demonstrated that Josh Homme’s influence hasn’t completely smothered their creative nous. With new single, Reckless Serenade, the Monkeys are hitting the good form of old, complete with that contemporary lyrical eloquence that made Alex Turner and co. so huge, ‘I’ve been trying to figure out exactly what it is I need/Call up to listen to the voice of reason/And got his answering machine.

I might actually end up buying this album.
