Hear This Song Today: Tim Fitz covers Radiohead’s Morning Mr Magpie

A few months ago I posted about the excellent Tim Fitz. A few months ago Radiohead released their excellent album, The King Of Limbs. A few days ago Tim Fitz, and only Tim Fitz, covered Morning Mr Magpie, from TKOL, using his looping pedal to full effect.

The result is brilliant, and featured below. You should download his EP.

hey a friend of yours, bek newmarch introduced your blog to me.

i’m stuck at home feeling pretty crook. so i thought i might go through your blog and post some reactions in places.

i wasn’t a big admirer of radiohead’s newest offering. i felt that it was one of their albums where instead of challenging the musical landscape of the time they have simply gone with the trend and made something that fits nicely with everything else. but watching the band perform the songs live has heightened my opinion on the album. similarly watching this excellent cover has opened my eyes to the intricacies of the album that i might have missed listening on my headphones. i never expected the vocals to be so spot on. all it’s missing as some wicked Thom dance moves and i’m sold!
